Project Overview

Markham Floating Stairs Reno Compass reimagined this Toronto home with a stunning floating staircase that instantly elevates its style and function. This stair renovation is a centerpiece of the entire home renovation, combining a modern, minimalist look with practical upgrades that improve daily living. Open Tread Design: Floating wood treads and sleek metal framing create an open, airy look — and the design allows natural light, including the skylight, to flow from the ceiling all the way to the basement, brightening every level. Glass Railing System: Tempered glass railings bring a clean, modern feel, improve safety, and keep sightlines open for a more connected home. Integrated Wood Accents: Custom wood millwork ties the staircase into the overall design, adding warmth and style to this interior renovation. Hidden Storage Solutions: Built-in cabinetry keeps the entryway organized, maximizing functionality without disrupting the minimalist design. Modern, Bright Interior: Neutral tones, layered lighting, and open sightlines create a welcoming atmosphere perfect for everyday living. At Reno Compass, we make stair renovation and interior renovation simple and stress-free, helping Toronto homeowners create beautiful, functional spaces they love.

Markham Kitchen Renovation

At Reno Compass, we redesigned this kitchen from a dated U-shape with a small island into a bright, streamlined space that’s functional and beautiful. This home renovation not only improved the flow of the kitchen but also made daily cooking and entertaining easier than ever. Highlights are: 1. Smart Layout Transformation:
We removed the old U-shaped layout and awkward corner cabinets, replacing them with a straight design and a larger central island. More drawers make storage simple and efficient, turning this interior renovation into a joy to use every day. 2. Elegant Quartz Surfaces:
The island features a dramatic waterfall-edge quartz countertop, while the cooking area boasts a full-height quartz backsplash. The soft veining and natural texture add elegance and quality, while being easy to clean. 3. Privacy & Hidden Storage Wall:
An L-shaped feature wall provides privacy and discreetly hides small appliances. Built-in cabinetry in the wall adds storage without cluttering the space. 4. Seamless Built-In Appliances:
A built-in fridge, oven, microwave, and induction cooktop are fully integrated, giving the kitchen a streamlined, organized look while keeping the space open and airy. 4. Warm, Minimalist Finishes:
Light wood floors and natural wood cabinetry bring warmth to the sleek, modern design for a welcoming feel. Your Dream Kitchen Awaits This kitchen renovation shows how thoughtful design can maximize space with the effort of Reno Compass, boost functionality, and create a beautiful gathering place for the whole family. Markham Interior Renovation

Markham Interior Renovation Layout Transformation Main Floor: Removed the load-bearing wall between the kitchen and living room to open up the space and extend the island. Demolished the original powder room and partition walls to make the living room more spacious. Converted the laundry room by the garage entrance into a powder room with a shower — perfect for seniors or quick rinses. Second Floor: Bathrooms, bathrooms, and more bathrooms! Upgraded from “4 bedrooms and 3 baths” to “4 bedrooms and 4 baths,” giving each bedroom its own ensuite for better privacy and added home value. Converted the hallway space into a new laundry room while keeping the den’s usable area. The owner says this is their favorite upgrade — no more carrying baskets of laundry up and down the stairs! Staircase: The most “magical” change — the staircase was reversed and redesigned as a steel-structure floating staircase from the main floor to the basement, adding openness and modern style. Skylights: Added 3 skylights in the second-floor hallway and primary ensuite, ensuring bright natural light even without turning on the lights during the day. The second-floor den is now the perfect spot to sip coffee and read a book — instant cozy vibes! Color & Materials Main Palette: Warm natural wood tones with black accents for a modern, minimalist, yet inviting feel. Paint: Benjamin Moore OC-17 White Dove. Tiles: Kitchen and bathrooms upgraded to large-format porcelain tiles with stone textures from Olympia Tile — combining elegance and easy maintenance.
