Project Overview

In this Toronto North York home renovation project, Reno Compass provided comprehensive design and construction services to successfully transform an aging house into a modern, minimalist, and highly functional home. Through complete structural upgrades and meticulous attention to detail, we not only enhanced the overall living experience but also significantly increased the property’s value. Highlights of this renovation include: New Flooring Throughout: Installed high-quality, natural-tone engineered hardwood flooring to create a warm, comfortable, and cohesive living environment. Modern Kitchen Renovation: The kitchen was completely redesigned with an open-concept layout and a balance of style and functionality to meet both daily living and entertaining needs. Basement Upgrade: The basement was fully renovated into a versatile, multi-purpose space—perfect for a recreation room, guest suite, or home office—maximizing the home’s usable square footage. Glass Stair Railing: The old stair railing was replaced with a modern combination of glass panels and wooden handrails, bringing a light, airy, and visually elegant look to the space. Custom Closet Design: Multiple built-in wardrobes were added in the bedroom, featuring well-organized interior configurations that combine storage efficiency with a sleek appearance. Bathroom Remodel: The bathrooms were upgraded with durable, easy-to-clean tiles and modern fixtures, with a redesigned layout for improved comfort and usability. Project Location: North York, Toronto Contractor: Reno Compass Inc.

Markham Interior Renovation Layout Transformation Main Floor: Removed the load-bearing wall between the kitchen and living room to open up the space and extend the island. Demolished the original powder room and partition walls to make the living room more spacious. Converted the laundry room by the garage entrance into a powder room with a shower — perfect for seniors or quick rinses. Second Floor: Bathrooms, bathrooms, and more bathrooms! Upgraded from “4 bedrooms and 3 baths” to “4 bedrooms and 4 baths,” giving each bedroom its own ensuite for better privacy and added home value. Converted the hallway space into a new laundry room while keeping the den’s usable area. The owner says this is their favorite upgrade — no more carrying baskets of laundry up and down the stairs! Staircase: The most “magical” change — the staircase was reversed and redesigned as a steel-structure floating staircase from the main floor to the basement, adding openness and modern style. Skylights: Added 3 skylights in the second-floor hallway and primary ensuite, ensuring bright natural light even without turning on the lights during the day. The second-floor den is now the perfect spot to sip coffee and read a book — instant cozy vibes! Color & Materials Main Palette: Warm natural wood tones with black accents for a modern, minimalist, yet inviting feel. Paint: Benjamin Moore OC-17 White Dove. Tiles: Kitchen and bathrooms upgraded to large-format porcelain tiles with stone textures from Olympia Tile — combining elegance and easy maintenance.
